Synopsis

The film follows the real-life stories of several young movie extras or small-time actors from a town called Hengdian, who struggle to find a foothold in Hengdian World Studios, aka "Hollywood of the East". The extras have no knowledge in moviemaking and their misadventures turn out to be valuable lessons for their lives.
