Great
Biography movie reflecting Vincent Van Gogh, with nice painting production. Especially the painting way for On-Going Mode is totally different to the Past Mode. Is good to know something about Van Gogh, abouth the bio and dead of him. It’s a bit meh but because the movie has to relate to real and link to the paintings while he stayed at that place for such long time until he died. It reminds me the story of The Girl With An Earing, bring sad but also telling people how great of these genius artists.
I was at first sceptical about the historical revisionist perspective that the movie adopts, but I was thoroughly and pleasantly surprised by how respectful it is towards Van Gogh and his life. The story is nothing short of fascinating, and the animation cleverly incorporates Van Gogh's paintings and style. It is a beautiful tribute to one of modern art's most pivotal figures. Give it a watch. It won't disappoint.
